Growing up as a child, I spent a lot of time at my grandma's hair salon. Grooming products were never something I ever put much thought into. The salon carried a great brand, and I got it for free, so why use anything else? Well, as of recently, she has sold the salon, and now I must find a new brand for my grooming products. I knew that I wanted something all-natural, clean from any toxins, and supported local or small businesses in the US. I came across Hardworking Gentlemen, and it was instantly a winner. Based out of Encinitas, California, Hardworking Gentlemen is run by just a couple of guys grinding through life like you and me. Plus, their product is all made in-house right here in Southern California, which is amazing.

Let's talk about their product line up. HWG has Pomades, shampoo + body wash, deodorant, bar soap, and this gem called Sea Salt Spray. All of which are packages in a sleek, matte black, 100% post-recycled, and fully biodegradable material. For myself, this is huge - especially for making that switch to an unfamiliar brand that I am not used to. As to no surprise, I fell in love with their products and used them daily now. The smell, the looks, the feel, everything. 

Now let's get to the fun stuff. 

Pomades:

Hardworking Gentlemen offers three types of pomades: light, medium, and firm holds. Each made with natural ingredients such as Vitamin E, Shea Butter, Argan Oil, and Jojoba Oil. All pomades are 3oz, making them travel compliant -which is great for us travelers!

Light Hold

This all-natural, light hold hair paste that is great for someone who likes loose styling with a natural finish. The cream-like texture of the light hold paste goes in smooth and washes out with ease. 

Medium hold

This all-natural, matte finish, hair clay works great for someone looking for an all-day hold while still being workable. Goes in smoothly without pulling your hair and washes out just as easy. This pomade is my favorite out of the three as it offers just the right amount of hold without being too heavy or too light and, of course, smells great!

Firm Hold

An all-natural, matte finish, firm hold hair wax that is great for those whose hairstyling demands maximum hold. The great thing about  HWG's firm hold wax is that when applying it to your hair, it still goes in smoothly like the lesser holds and washes out with ease -- which a great benefit because some other products on the market are really tough on your hair/roots when applying.  

Texturizing Sea Salt Spray

This all-natural, texturizing sea salt spray is perfect for adding volume and grit to your style! Pro-tip, use this before putting in the pomade, and it adds a great texture and feel. Key ingredients: Sea Salt that is great for absorbing excess oils and exfoliating the scalp and Vegetable Glycerin that softens and soothes dry, brittle hair.  

Natural Body Wash + Shampoo

This body wash + shampoo is made from all-natural and organic aloe leaf, Jojoba seed oil, natural Vegetable Glycerin, and Vitamins E and B5! With a touch of HWG signature Pinewood scent, this stuff smells great! Use on your hair, beard, and body and stay fresh!

Soap:

HWG soap is made with organic natural ingredients making it great for use on your face, body, or hands. T his stuff hydrates and repairs your skin without the harmful sulfates, paragons, phthalates, or gluten found in other bar soaps! Personally, I love this stuff and have two - one bar for the shower and one bar for the hands!

Forest Tonic + Juniper

This soap is made with ground juniper berries that naturally exfoliate and moisturizer skin, Sunflower Oil, which moisturizes skin while not clogging pores, and Rosemary, which is good for fighting redness and inflammation of the skin. This soap is perfect for someone looking to get a natural soap that is easy on their skin while still smellin' good. 

Tea Tree Charcoal Soap 

Inspired by traditional African black soap, this soap contains organic cocoa butter to lock in moisture and protect your skin from UV damage, Plantain leaf which cools, soothes, and is antibacterial - ultimately leading to healthier skin. This soap is amazing and is my personal favorite among the two. It doesn't dry out your skin and is perfect for achieving healthy skin!

Natural Pinewood Deodorant 

The Pinewood deodorant is one of my favorite products from HWG. It is non-irritating, odor eliminating, and flat out preforms. This deodorant is safe for all skin types and goes on smooth and clear with no residue or stains, which is incredible. Made from Aloe Vera leaf juice, Radish Root, and vitamin E, this deodorant soothes skin and keeps you smellin' good all day!
